Happy Poetry Month! (April 2026)
Shout out to all my contemporaries in the craft. Near or distant, new or experienced, everyone who has been courageous enough to speak words of love, wisdom, heritage, education, connection and candor- thank you for your brave contribution to the world. Today I am revamping, revisiting, re-sharing one of my own projects from over 3 years ago. This would be the Chapter that turns an Audio Poetry Portfolio into a fictional adventure story where Jay R. Midas truly comes to life. Beyond the floating heads we have become used to. Enjoy the poetry as it should be- equipped with updated visuals, improved sound quality, the whole chapter in one episode. A genre medium the Animated Poet and his collection of sunglasses had materialized has become the springboard for all types of amazing content that exist now! The Past and the Present have Converged. What does the future hold?

Scene 1: “Who You Become”- Canon Remix
The year is 2088.
The original solo version of these notes were first sung by a poet several decades ago in the year 2023.
Something seems to be happening. Welcome to… Jay R. Midas Chapters Chapter III: future!TENSE.
Scene 2: “Timeline Disturbance” (Skit n’ Poem)
As mild mannered Jon attempts to summon Super Mega Poet Midas Level 3, time passes. Nefarious moves are being made to distort the timeline and the Day is now in need of a savior. Our hero must first find the “Nola’s” (Midas’ Sunglasses) to summon the power within. Will Jon be able to summon Midas? How much damage did that poetry blast set off? What was that catchy tune? All that and more will be answered in later scenes.
Scene 3: “Wair Duz”- The Time Traveler’s Edition
A reimagined rendition of “Wair Duz“, an interview style poem video poem has been altered because of the timeline split. A lost time traveler attempts to fit in. Does the weary Time Traveler find his destination?
Scene 4: “Greetings from 2088”
A message from the future! The voice that tells an ominous tale has cast out a beacon for you to transcribe.
Scene 5: “Filling.”
In this short poem, Midas sees his many selves across the multiverse and attempts to return them home. Enjoy “Filling“!
Scene 6: “On the Other Side of a Blackhole” & Outro
Jay R. Midas closes out Future!TENSE. with a thank you and a Poetry Reading. He’s fully charged up to deliver his final poetry blast when he shares what life is like on the other side of a blackhole. Be on the lookout for the next installment of the 3rd Chapter, The Future is a 2nd Away!
